Spanish Language Instructor – Professional Profile
Teaching Spanish is not just my profession — it’s my passion. I am both Spanish and Colombian, with a profound understanding of the differences and nuances between Peninsular and Latin American Spanish. This bicultural and bilingual background allows me to offer students a unique and comprehensive learning experience, embracing the richness and diversity of the Spanish-speaking world. This expertise is a key strength in my teaching approach, giving learners a deeper appreciation of the language’s variations across different regions.
Since 2011, I have worked as a Spanish instructor in a wide range of settings, teaching both in-person and online in countries including Colombia (Bogotá), Spain (Madrid, Seville, Málaga), Oman (Muscat), and Kuwait. My experience spans teaching in schools, universities, and corporate environments. I have had the privilege of working with learners of all levels — from beginners to advanced students — and with professionals and executives from major international companies, providing specialized Business Spanish training to enhance communication skills in professional contexts.
In addition to my classroom teaching, I have contributed to various international projects. Notably, I participated as a Project Manager in a European Union-funded initiative to develop a website offering free resources and activities in Spanish and other languages, aimed at supporting students with interactive and engaging content. This experience allowed me to merge my passion for education with my organizational and project management skills, ensuring that learners worldwide have access to quality, free resources for language learning.
I have also been invited as a speaker and workshop facilitator at prestigious institutions such as Karlova University in Prague (Czech Republic) and the Cervantes Institute in Poland, where I led teacher-training sessions for both native and non-native Spanish instructors. These opportunities have further enriched my teaching methodology and allowed me to engage with the wider community of Spanish language educators.
What truly defines my teaching style is my passion for helping students connect with the language in a meaningful way. I strive to create a positive, engaging, and dynamic learning environment, tailored to each student’s needs and goals. Whether for personal growth, professional advancement, or academic achievement, my aim is to empower my students to use Spanish confidently, effectively, and with cultural awareness.
